Other than the pre-veterinary course requirements the applicants need to submit their test scores from Graduate Record Examination or Medical College Admission Test or Veterinary College Admission Test. At present 22 schools in US require GRE, 2 require MCAT and 4 require VCAT.

Once you get a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree you will have to obtain a license no matter whether you want to practice privately or wish to join a government project.
